I had to do a double take to make sure that this wasn’t an April Fool’s Day prank, but it is indeed a real promotion.
Laid off from work and down in the dumps? American Laser Centers, which is the largest provider of aesthetic services in the USA, is hoping to give you a boost with their contest to win a “Pink Slip Pick-Me-Up Rejuvenation Package” valued at $10,000 (that’s the grand prize).
It includes:
- skin rejuvenation
- VelaShape cellulite reduction
- laser hair removal
- and a prize pack of exclusive skincare products
Fifty first-prize winners will receive a $1,500 gift certificate for use in any American Laser Center across the country.
How do you win this laser makeover?
By going to their website and submitting an essay about your “pink slip” experience. Essays should be less than 350 words and must mention your former place of employment by name.
Entries will be judged on uniqueness of the story, the impact the layoff has had on the essay writer’s life, and the clarity of the essay.
The contest runs from April 1, 2009 to May 15, 2009, and winners will be notified by July 1, 2009.
